ALONG THE COAST

The Beach & Surfing

The coastline here shifts from wild and rocky to stretches of quiet, white sand—some vibrant, others nearly untouched. Just minutes from the house, Patzcuaritos offers a more secluded experience. A short drive or walk leads to a jungle path, where palms and wildlife open onto a wide, untamed beach, often with little more than the sound of the ocean.

For those drawn to the water, the surrounding area is known for its consistent surf, with breaks suited to all levels. The closest lies just minutes away, with many more within a short drive. From December through April, the north swell brings particularly favorable conditions. Boards and arrangements can be made based on preference.

Sayulita Town

Sayulita is a coastal town shaped by its surf culture and easy rhythm of life. What was once a quiet fishing village has grown into a mix of local tradition and international influence—boutiques, cafés, and galleries woven into its cobbled streets.

Even so, the character of the town holds. The Huichol community remains a visible presence, their beadwork and textiles reflecting generations of craft, while fishermen, surfers, and residents continue to define its pace. It’s a place best experienced without agenda—wandering, observing, and settling into its rhythm.
